I take you home was born in one of the first years I worked with au-some kids. One of my still nonverbal 1to1s suddenly looked at me in the middle of a lesson and said "Miss..." "I take you home" as a way to express that he had created a bond and felt safe. Coming from a kid that had only about fifteen words back then it made me really emotional and I realised how much I wanted to show people the amount of misconceptions they have when understanding autism.

"Oh, but they don't understand emotions..."

"Oh, but they don't connect with people..."

"Oh, but they won't be able to do this or that..."

"Oh...they're so naughty!!"

I wish you could really know what they're capable of. You'll be surprised!

Since then I've been wanting to, in some way, create a space where I can share my stories with them and collect all the information and experiences that could help not only other teachers but parents as well.

I want to help everyone I can with pictures, blogs, trainings, etc. so they have a better understanding and can enjoy their time with ASD children as much as I do.
