LEARN WITH ME

I spend my days working with autistic children and their families at school, and in the last few years my role has expanded to include working with families in their home environments as well. I realised that working only in schools with the children is not enough, as often lessons learned in one place stay in that place with that adult, and the knowledge gained is not taken anywhere else. One environment affects the other, so the more parents and the different professional are able to work together as a team, the bigger the progress will be.

I know that it is easy for schools to say "do this" or “do that” but being a parent 24/7 is already hard enough on its own, and it can be very difficult to stick to routines or ideas of what should be done. As well, not every professional has been trained for the task or needs of the children they work with. This is why I am creating courses for new and not-so-new families and professionals, to learn more about ASD and how to work with it in different settings.

If you are interested in learning more about autism and special needs -ADHD, PDA and others- and how to support at home or school from different perspectives -teaching assistants, middays, teachers, etc- keep in touch!

"I have seen a huge change in the children they are very confident and included at school. My children have made amazing progress in their development and are happy with their teachers and peers. That is because they have Miss Fle at school who always ensures their needs are met and they are treated equally and fair in all aspects of school life. In our home life I am well informed and can continue some of the activities they do or any new found interests at home because my son is not yet able to fill me in on his school activities but having Miss Fle to include me had made it fantastic."
